well you draw the pattern you want. cut the design out of metal(negative or positive). solder it onto another different color metal. cut and sand/file the edges till they are flush. sand and buff the presenting side. tada!!
I made it by hand. From drawing to hand sawing to sanding/filing. I layered nickle(silver) over the gold looking metal (I forgot what it is called at this time). I used a machine to buff it with white diamond and rouge buff, and a torch for soldering the metals together.
Looks like it's brass to me. (a copper and zink alloy) I can tell by the golden yellow gleam, combined with the deep coppercolored torching stains from where you soldered them. They are a nice touch together. Did you have any help or project to make this, or was it on your own accord?

Brass your right, lol. Well I am taking jewelry classes for fun, but it is very free in what we do. I did this on the side of the projects(in my metal work folder). I am hoping to one day make real shields and armor, but for now jewelry.
